    Hi all, 2 quick questions.

    1) should the same underlay be used on the stairs and landing or can I go with like a 9mm stairs and then 11 landing?

    2) my parents want comfort underfoot but also want to protect the carpet. They are fitting heartlands ultra I think; what combination across the house would you say the best would be between

    - 9mm caviar and crystal
    11mm cav and Crystal

    - 9mm cirrus
    11mm cumulus

    -9mm Charleston
    11mm Charleston

    -8mm connisseur
    10mm connisseur

    Thanks all.

You can fit a denser underlay on the stairs if you want.
I tend to use the same on the landings aswell...

Generally prefer to use the same on stairs and landings for the same foot feel, I have known people to lose balance with the change otherwise (usually older or disabled people).

    thanks!

so maybe connisseur 8mm or cav and Crystal 9mm and then something like cumulus in bedrooms as parents want the softest underfoot

or is cirrus ok on stairs ?

I personally wouldn't use cumulus, hate the stuff, over rated in my opinion. I don't even push it with my customers.

    I mainly use Conn 8/10
Super contract or jade 9mm (interfloor)

Does it still feel very nice and luxurious underfoot ? Soft

Yeah it feels how it should but you can't have the best of both worlds especially on a stairs. Too soft and it'll batter quicker, too hard and it's feel 'too dense'

Is cumulus too soft for stairs?

Too thick and not dense enough, flattens quick in my experience
