I think you will have to remove the seat and put it behind the driver seat

Great van, I bought it a year old on a J reg. Covered about 160,000 miles, no issues at all really. It did get a bit hot when you went over 90

Mercedes sprinter low roof medium wheelbase . Remove double passenger seat and replace with a single.cut hole in bulkhead jobs a good un ! Best van for carrying 4m since demise of the good old hiace RIP

Are you even a carpet fitter if you never had a Hi-ace?
Had one before my sprinter and what a van it was.
Think they still make them but now call it the pro-ace? I'd have one if i was on my own.

Pro ace is now just the same as the Citroen Dispatch Peugeot expert, no fold down passenger seat, standard bulkhead with load through hatch with passenger seat folded up. Will fit 4mtr apparently but not sure on circumference issues

I’m not a carpet fitter no. I’m a Floorlayer. Just been selling carpet last few years now I have a shop. Looking to drop Carpets off at jobs now and then. I have a transit custom now. Would it be worth getting a decent roof rack ?

I chuck loads on the roofrack on our Caddy. Its fine, but then we only really fit carpets for a small developer I know, so empty voids, no customer to deal with, as such.
Im not sure it would look great if its pissing with rain, and you turn up to a customers house with it on the roof.

Like I said in my earlier post, you can still get folding passenger seats on Transporters as long as they've been built without a bulkhead.
Why nobody else does this is beyond me.

Bit late adding to this but don't get on here much anymore.

Anyway, I have a lwb trafic (new shape one) with the bench seat. It has a folding middle seat.
You can get a few 4m cuts in but they have to sit on the dash so the doors can be shut.
There is also a load through flap under re passenger seat. You can get a smaller diameter 4m cut through it and into the footwell.

I'm looking to take the bench seat out and it in a single seat. These recline. I can then get a lot more in.

The folding middle seat is only available on the sport and business + models.

I don't know about the vauxhall, fiat or Nissan equivalents

Well you can get about 3 medium sized cuts straight over the dash and still shut the back door so a smidgen over 4m I guess.

Anyone have either a Toyota Proace / Citroen dispatch / peogot expert - the new models ?

Thinking of going for one but the xl ( lwb) versions seem hard to find nearly new or second hand .
Think I’m going to turn the old transporter into a campervan

I want to have a look at the new Peugeot Export. It has a flap under the seats you can get carpets in I’ve heard. Not sure on the size though.
