I'm with Jambo, Mapei Renovation Screed will go over most things, sticks like **** and is very flexible.... As long as you get any loose residue off the existing it should be fine

My mates had nothing but problems with mapei latex plan and renovation all blowing. He's now gone back to f balls all jobs prepped properly aswell with primer and old adhesive removed. He even has his rep as a mate who talks out of his a$$ with excuses.

Stop gap 1200. Just seen it in cfj. It says can go over adhesive residue.

That's what I`ve decided to do in the end, was just wondering if there was a screed out there that could go over ply with glue residue thought there might have been one.

if you look at the new 1200 its really for screed rather than on wood, you can fill wood floors before you overply it, all the flexible screeds i know say you should remove all water solubile adhesive from them first,
if it was my job i would get the sander out and put on a heavy paper and remove the adhesive 2m2 around the door or doors
then lay 4 or 6mm ply depending on floor levels, filling any undulations before i lay the ply with the 1200 or 700
then use feather finish or 700 flex on joints and the section by the door that i had cleaned off, you can walk away knowing it will be ok

that's more or less the way I`m going to do it, 4mm ply over the top and 700 at the door where there is ceramics. It`s a post office with heavy traffic don`t want to take any chances.

@ uv. I didn't read much about it, just saw an advert and the going over adhesive residue seemed to be q hat they were pushing. Thanks for putting me onto that supplier, unfortunately it was the wrong grey. Morleys will not even send me the insert so he whole book will colour match, but someone there said they may be trading in a few days. I don't know what authority that person had but i won use them again. Shouldn't have left gradus, although I've been impressed with treads. The speed they sent me all the samples. Got a nosing coming with 2 different inserts to match with the morleys. I've found them nothing but helpful.

Nk1 wasn't being critical, it was just that Fball have really been promoting the new 1200 as if its the answer to everyones prays, so thought i better read the technical details, thats when i discovered that it not flexible, will grill the Fball guys at their fishing day soon,
Morley's might well be trading in a few days , they normally come back in some shape or form, mind you heard some serious allegations that might stop that from happen!

    They are very good

@uv, that's cool I didn't think you were. Morleys could be back tomorrow but they won't get business from me. The way they handled my order was rubbish, and Id say there is a serious problem there.
